Something players will want to get into the habit of is revealing all the items in their immediate area. Players can do this by holding down the Aim button. Players can then pan their camera around to see the locations of all nearby items, represented as yellow lights. They will also be able to reveal the location of their next major objective if they are close enough.

If players are investing in a mission area, they can also use this to find the exact location they will find their objective. This will be indicated by a blue light. This can be used to find chests, and find missing scrolls.

Do Side Activities Between Missions

Almost every game lets players choose between enjoying side quests, activities, sandboxing, and making their way through the main story. However, players that make their way through Assassin’s Creed Shadows will discover the difficulty will start to increase quite rapidly if all they do is the main quest line.

Enemy levels will quickly become more than they can handle, and their experience may not be enjoyable. For this reason, players should deviate from the main story from time to time to ensure they are getting enough XP to stay one step ahead of the difficulty curve.

Change Gear Often

Players will find new pieces of gear as they complete objectives and open chests. These new pieces of gear come in different rarities, but also at higher levels. Each time players obtain new pieces of gear, they should open the menu and compare it to their current gear.

Having the best gear on at all times will allow them to withstand more damage and defeat enemies more quickly. This can mean the difference between success and failure at times, and it only takes a moment to switch out one's gear for better options.

Don't forget to also upgrade the gear you like using the most.

Always Check Marked Locations on the Map

Players will see a red bar appear whenever they are in combat. When this happens, they will not be able to travel fast to safety. Once players complete their objective, they may find themselves still in the red and needing to run out of the current area. Be sure to collect any fast travel points on the map, and use Fast Traveling to save potentially hours of footwork.

Players should also check out any question marks that are nearby to save them having to come back and head all the way over to them later. Traveling will add up over the course of the game's many chapters, and can be a real chore to come back to all of them later.

Players might also find some great legendary gear along the way.
